Teespring Review and Too Many Selfies

Recently I bought a hoodie from Teespring because it showed up on my Facebook ads (see, advertising). Honestly I wasn't expecting anything much (I spent a couple hours Googling if it was a scam) from the hoodie other than the design being so irresistible that I took a chance at it. I'm so glad I did.

Teespring works like those Kickstarter projects; they require a minimum number of orders to start printing the design. When I bought my design they had already reached their goal, but I still had to wait around two weeks for them to close the offer. (November 8th was the deadline.)

They sent me an email right after to confirm my order. It was also a nice touch to be able to track the progress of the shirts, I remember spamming it constantly as the deadline drew nearer because I was impatient.

They send you another email when the orders close as well, telling you an estimated delivery time. 

I was so excited! I told anyone who would listen about this ridiculously amazing hoodie I was getting because I'm a sucker for nerdy fandom things.

I got the email on November 14th, a Friday. I had expected the shirt to arrive the next week, since it was close to the weekend after all. Still, I was an impatient little bugger and tracked it the next day.

At first I was confused when the packaged said "delivered". Was there a mix up in tracking numbers? It couldn't have arrived so soon, could it...?

Lo and behold, it had. I had gotten my hoodie nearly a full week before it was supposed to. Was I incredibly happy? Yes. Was I also impressed? Yes.

Not nearly as much as when I opened the package, however. The hoodie, it turned out, was in hella good condition. It was freaking perfection. The material was thick and warm, the size was exactly right in all the right places, and most importantly, the printing was wonderful. It's not cheap thin print, it was textured white print that stood out in the most amazing way. I am a sucker for texture. I loved it so much.

The hoodie could probably have been worn right out from the package (there was no heavy chemical smell) but I was too much of a mommy's girl to not give it a quick wash beforehand. Washing instructions on the tag were clear, and the color never ran. Lovely.

I love the collar the hoodie gives when it's down. It doesn't clump 

around the neck, but falls neatly to the side with some stiffness.

The hoodie looks good with the hood up as well. Some hoodies have 

too small a hood to actually be functional, I've noticed.

Verdict: I love this hoodie. Material and design. I'd give it a 11/10 if I could.

On Teespring: it's my first time buying from Teespring, but I was seriously impressed with everything so far. Easy, pretty, and efficient. I'd recommend Teespring to anyone who's wondering if it's legit. I'd buy again if there were any new amazing designs I just had to have.

Growing Up With Board Games

A couple of months back my sister and I stumbled upon a quaint, cozy place with a fantastic twist: a café themed around board games. Since then we've gone back a couple of times, because they give a voucher thing with each receipt and they have a pre-paid card with special rates.

Board games mean something special to me, having grown up with the happier part of my childhood being involved with playing board games with the adopted family. There's always time for board games, I'm always in the mood for board games. It's simply the best.

What first began as a hunt for frozen yoghurt (we were disappointed that Tutti Frutti in Kota Damansara had closed down) ended up with us playing board games with New Zealand Natural ice cream to satisfy our sweet tooth. (Coincidentally, NZN is my favorite ice cream brand- so of course the large banner caught my attention.)

Our first game we were introduced to is Ubongo, a puzzle-based game where you had to fit all the pieces into the board within the time limit and collect stones. It's not as easy as it looks! xD

The other game is Blokus, one of my favorites, which you literally try to dominate the board and be a cockblock to everyone else.

The next game we tried included pandas and bamboos, and it included lots of limiting factors and things to consider, so it took quite a while.

There was also a fun kiddish-game including ghosts, mice, chairs and colors. Adorable!

There was one last game that included trains and train tracks and it's awesome (and I won it) but unfortunately I don't have the pictures for that. :( But I won that game, and it was great. :D

Food at the Border City Cafe is at best, mediocre. It does make things a little more fun and warm though, and they have a variety of finger food and pastas (also slightly cold all-day breakfasts). Evidently food does make the heart fonder!

I was pretty happy because they really do treat customers as friends, and you can have a polaroid taken on the first visit to put up on the wall. (I'm sure you can ask for it back, though- I should have just taken mine home with me, haha.)

The rest of shop was decorated with boardgames (for sale, too) from various different countries and and super comfortable seating arrangements for an optimum group of 4 or above.

All in all, Border City Café is quite a comfortable place to hang out with friends, and they open till late as well. It's worth visiting again!

Golden Palm Tree Resort Weekend Trip!

Finally we had our long awaited weekend at the Golden Palm Tree Resort! Their villas were much more relaxing than I expected, and I absolutely loved their interior designing. Matching white with wooden furniture made the whole place look so breezy and refreshing!

The balcony was rather spacious, leading to a view of the other braches of villas and a nice wide view of the sea and the beach some distance away. The sea wasn't at all deep- we could see translucent, odd fish swimming below out villas; in fact the next day when it was low-tide the water was all drained away, leaving the brown firm mud-bed out to the sun. Surprisingly there was no muddy smell of swamp.

The balcony had a set of rattan table and chairs that was great for 

stoning at night listening to sea breeze.

You could see the sea from your shower stall- if you 

don't mind the fish looking at you while you bathe!

The resort had bicycles that guests could freely use- though it was incredibly hard to be able to get any since many people tend to keep those bikes in their villas, though you weren't supposed to. My cousins had a great time riding them in circles whenever they managed to find an unoccupied one. It's a brilliant idea, if people had the decency to leave those bikes back at the bicycle racks for other people to use and not hoard it for themselves...!!!

After checking out the villa, we went out to the extreme park where they offered paintball, all-terrain vehicle rides, archery and of course, the go-kart.

Obviously, I finished last, because I'm a safe driver like that.

It was relatively fun, (if you're not the one paying for it lol) and then after that we went for a dip in the pool back at the resort.

The pool opened up to an unobstructed view of the sea, so it was as though you could fool yourself into thinking you're in the sea, which is actually really cool.

We chilled for a bit then went out for dinner. We were lucky to find a Chinese restaurant, the seafood was really good!

After dinner we went back to the resort where they had a live band playing at the poolside. Music was playing, and the stars were out. The sea breeze was cooling and the night was spent relaxing.

We woke up in time to make the buffet breakfast, which is typical hotel food. Lunch outside after we checked out, however, made up for the lack of good food. I have a biased view that small towns always have better food, and I was not disappointed. Pretty much had the best curry laksa with its own taste, paired with gloriously refreshing longan drink.

I finally got my red dragon fruit drink after so long of wanting it! It's locally produced, and they don't skimp on real fruit. I recommend to shake the bottle before drinking otherwise by the time you get to the bottom all you get is pulp, not juice.

We dropped by the beach first, because what's the point of going so far to the sea without having fun on a beach? It was low tide when we got there, so we walked quite a distance into the seabed. We chased the little red crabs scuttling about- they were about the equivalent of the ants of the land, I suppose. There were swarms of them, a shimmering carpet of red on the sea bed.

It felt good to just spend the weekend totally relaxed! Can't wait to come back here again!
